Server rules and conduct expectations for The Continuum.
The Continuum is a Folia-based SMP server built on the principle of emergence and persistence. We embrace a minimal ruleset that allows players to shape their own experience—including chaotic gameplay like PvP and griefing. However, freedom within the game does not extend to freedom from basic human decency. These terms outline expectations for maintaining a server where everyone can play without fear of harassment or malicious intent outside of gameplay.
Core Rules
Platform Compliance
By joining The Continuum, you agree to uphold the Minecraft Usage Guidelines, Minecraft Community Standards, and Xbox Community Standards that you agreed to when creating your Minecraft account. Violations of these external standards may result in action on our server independent of your account status.
Exploits & Cheating
Using exploits that crash the server or cause critical performance issues is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate and permanent removal. Duplication and travel exploits are permitted as long as they do not negatively impact server stability or performance. If an exploit is discovered to be causing issues, we will notify players and it will be disabled. Continued use after notification will be considered a violation of these terms.
Respect & Civility
All players must maintain respectful behavior toward others. Discrimination, predatory conduct, harassment, bullying, and threats of any kind—whether in-game chat, private messages, or external communities—will not be tolerated. This is a game; keep conflict within appropriate bounds.
Content Standards
Do not create, display, or promote builds, structures, or content that glorifies harmful ideologies, hateful symbols, hateful speech, or discrimination. Such creations will be removed, and repeated violations may result in removal from the server.
Chat & Community Guidelines
Chat Conduct
Keep chat clean and functional. Do not spam, flood, or repeatedly post the same messages. Bots, chat macros, and automated message systems are prohibited. Constructive conversation is encouraged; disruptive behavior is not.
Harassment & Bullying
Do not harass, threaten, bully, or demean other players in any context—whether in-game, in chat, or elsewhere. Personal attacks and intimidation have no place in our community. Remember that behind every player is a real person; treat others with basic respect and dignity.
Hateful Content
Do not build, create, or display content that promotes discrimination, hateful ideologies, or offensive symbolism. This includes hateful speech, racist imagery, or any content designed to demean or exclude others based on identity. Violations will result in content removal and potential action against your account.
Punishments
Violations of these rules may result in the following actions, applied at administrator discretion based on severity and history:
- Temporary or permanent chat muting
- Temporary or permanent server ban
- Removal or modification of problematic builds or content
Reporting Violations
If you witness a violation of these rules, please use the Contact section to submit a report with evidence. Include the player name, details of the violation, and any relevant screenshots or logs. Our team will investigate and take appropriate action.
